TGIF

Even though it's passover week, I'm so very happy that it's Friday! Four-day weeks absolutely drain me for some reason.

Nothing much planned for the weekend. Maya has a nasty respiratory virus running its course thru her little body, and this mama is exhausted. So I'm not making any plans in hopes of getting a LOT of needed rest.

Until next time, enjoy a few pics of Maya's preschool Valentine's Day party, and of course, our little Gus, too. :)

Sarah

Happy Friday!

Hope u all have a great weekend. Not much planned for us...Sam is having some teeth pulled today so we will be busy tending to him, I'm sure. We are supposed to be having a fun night with friends tomorrow so please pray for speedy healing! Im also pondering the thought of taking maya to the theater performance of "if u give a mouse a cookie." I think it will be a cute show and something different for us, so we'll see.

Hope u all are well! Please do not forget to pray for sweet Kate and super Savannah.

Thankful Thursday

Today I'm thankful for the awesome date I had last Friday night with Sam! These are the wonderful surprises that unfolded throughout the evening for me...

A trip to my hair salon that entailed a fun style and new flat iron!

A wonderful dinner at one of my favorite spots

And a spectacular, kid-less, quiet, relaxing suite!

Thank you, Sam...it really meant the world to me.

So...what are all of you thankful for, today???

Sarah

A Warm Picture for a Cold Day!

Peek-A-Boo with Great-Grandpa Luna...happiness abounds in these sets of eyes.

I've had the intention of posting pics, lately, but time somehow keeps slipping thru my intentions. Hope you all are warm and well.

Happy 6th Birthday, Dominic!

It's February third, today, so you know what that means...
A birthday boy will celebrate his sixth year on the scenes.
With Grady, Gus, and Maya Jane--his favorite family crew,
Dominic will be so thrilled, he won't know what to do!

I can't begin to write in words how much he means to me.
To see him hop and hear him laugh just fills my soul with glee.
I love to hear him preach at church and say his special prayer,
And watch him tap his finger through the middle of the air! :)

My Honey Honey Lovey Lovey's who he'll always be,
An inspiration to the world, at least he is to me.
Although he has his meltdowns and shares of daily strife,
He fights right through his autism and loves this thing called life.

Tonight we will be partyin' and singin' songs, I'm sure.
We'll also have to clarify if statements are obscure. :)
So if you have a spare minute to stop and type a line,
Shout out a, "Happy Birthday!", and he'll be on cloud nine!

I've lost them. They're gone. And, I have no idea who took my sweet, precious, cuddly, loving babies away, but I would give anything to have them back.

Yeah, right. I know what you're thinking...they're toddlers...those days are gone, right?

Seriously, I had no idea it could be this bad.

Then again, maybe it's not them. Maybe--and most likely--it's all me. I'm trying to figure out how every single night I've gone to bed with an anger-filled heart. Not good, I know...but whaddya do?? It's a constant battle. It never ends. I can't seem to get a break. And the fact that they are angels with Sam doesn't help...it just mounts the emotion a little higher in my chest. And I'm sure they can feel it; so they're feeding off of it, which just escalates every "toddler moment" into a screaming-butt-beating-2-hour battle. Horrible. I hate it. And, like my mom, I have a problem staying calm so I usually end up screaming at them--just like she used to do with me, and just like I always promised myself I would never do with my kids. So then I get upset with myself, pray for 11:40 p.m. to arrive so Sam can take over, and then cry myself to sleep. The alarm goes off 5 1/2 hours later, and it starts all over again. Perhaps the anger and impatience are manifestations of exhaustion...

Please pray for...my attitude, maybe? I'm not sure. Pray for the kids...they've had a rough week--and it's only 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

Love you all. Maybe some pics to come later if I can get Sam to fix some up for me.
