Hey, Sam here. I was asked to post thankful Thursday. Instead of making a gi-normous list of things I am thankful for, I am going to pick a few and elaborate on them.
First on the list is Troubles. I am ever so thankful for every single trial and tribulation I am faced with, daily. If we could grasp, I mean really grasp, get clean down to the pit of our soul exactly what the Bible is talking about when it says to glory in our infirmities, our lives would change. I don’t mean just change how we look at things; I am talking about a total, complete transfiguration in your body, soul, and spirit. The reason for this restructuring of our lives comes down to one easy, simple, awesome detail: when we go through stuff, Jesus is closer than ever. So for that reason I am thankful for my troubles.
Praise Jesus, I have a wife. If there is one person other that Jesus Christ in my life that helps me, convicts me, and encourages me, it’s my wife. Sarah, you are the best and most wonderful wife ever. I do nothing daily to earn you, and yet every night without fail, it is you who I lie next to and fall asleep. If Sarah ever said that there was a problem in our marriage I would have to agree, it is ME. But for some strange reason, you stay. The Bible says that he who finds a wife finds a good thing. And Sarah, you're not good, you're grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat!
My third and final subject for this Thankful Thursday is my children. No one could have ever told me how much my kids would mean to me. It is something you have to experience. I will always love them and protect them and care for them. If one of my children gets hurt, I feel the pain. With that said, imagine what God must have felt when he sent Jesus to come and die on the cross. I am sure he felt the pain of his only begotten son. When I come home at night and Maya is yelling, "Dada Dada!", it is the most rewarding feeling ever.
Thank you Jesus for my Wife, my Children, and my Trials, and most of all, for dying on the cross to save my wicked soul.
