But It Also Has Miranda!

When I drove myself to work a couple of months ago, I heard tickets being given away for the iCarly concert that is coming to Wichita on August 12. As soon as I got to work, I emailed the radio station and asked for details about the contest in hopes that I could maybe participate and win tickets for Dominic. Unfortunately, the radio station responded to my email with a standard, "Good luck on winning!" reply.

I kept thinking about how much my "Honey Honey Lovey Lovey" enjoys his iCarly time. So, I couldn't let it rest. I took the next step. I emailed Miranda's manager. This is what I said:

I was delighted to hear that iCarly will be in Wichita, KS on August 12th.

I have a nephew with autism who is very near and dear to my heart. My entire family has done their best to research and educate ourselves so we can support him to the very best of our abilities; BUT...even with all of our research and education, NOBODY can extinguish a meltdown like iCarly...just the mention of her name, and all is well with the world. :) (Okay, so it's not QUITE that simple, but she plays a big part in getting him refocused...she just doesn't know it!)

I have no qualms about purchasing tickets to take him to the concert; however, considering the whimsical nature of autism, I'm afraid we would have to turn around and walk out due to the overstimulation of sound and people. Will there be any type of meet & greet that I could get him to without going to the actual concert? Please get back with me at your earliest convenience.

Thank you,

Sarah

To my surprise, I received an almost immediate reply, thanking me for taking the time to email. He stated that Miranda would be busy while she was here, visiting children in hospitals and shelters, but she would be delighted to meet Dom! He told me to touch base with him when the concert was closer.

Well, I totally let it slip my mind. I failed to send a follow-up email, and honestly, I had completely forgotten about the concert...UNTIIIIL...I got an email this morning FROM THEM following up with me! How cool is that?! This is what it read:

"Hi, Sarah,

I hope this finds you and your nephew well. Unfortunately, the meet & greet takes place inside the venue and would require tickets in order to attend. I see there are still some available if you'd like to purchase them. It would be my pleasure to offer you a pair of passes for the Meet & Greet if you do decide to go. Just let me know once you've made your decision, and I'll set it up. The M&G takes place before the show so theoretically, you could meet Miranda and then play it by ear in terms of how long you stay during the show. When the kids all start screaming and the show kicks off it definitely gets loud and stimulating. But it also has Miranda!"

Needless to say - the tickets are being ordered, and I'm taking my little lovey to see iCarly!!! Please be in prayer for Dominic, that this would be an incredible, pleasantly memorable life adventure!!! :)

xoxo,

Sarah
